You probably use Dashlane’s iOS Password Manager to, well, just manage your passwords. Aside from protecting and organizing passwords for you, Dashlane can do a lot more than you think.

For example, did you know that you could check your bills at the airport, shop for a new Summertime outfit while on the treadmill, or make dinner reservations in a taxiall on your iPhone or iPad with Dashlane?

No? Well, let me introduce you to our Dashlane Safari extension on iPhone and iPad devices. With the brand-new Dashlane iPhone and iPad app on iOS 10, you can auto-fill forms, automatically log into your favorite websites, and effortlessly make online payments all in your Safari app. I’ve updated this post to give you step-by-step instructions on how to use the new Dashlane Safari extension on your device. 

How to Activate Your Dashlane Safari Extension

With the new Dashlane app, you can activate the Dashlane Safari extension right in the app.

First, go to the “Tools” tab on the bottom menu bar, and select “Dashlane Extension” on the “Tools” page.

On the next screen, tap the “Add Dashlane” button at the bottom of the screen.

Next, you’ll see a menu with two “More” boxes on two different rows. Select the “More” box on the bottom row.

From there, you will be taken to an “Activities” page, where you’ll see “Dashlane” and a toggle button. To activate Dashlane, swipe right on the toggle button.

Once you tap “Done”, you’ll be taken back to the previous screen, where the Dashlane extension should appear in your menu box!

Automatically Log in to Your Favorite Websites

If you’ve used Dashlane’s auto-login feature on your Mac or PC, then you’ll know all about its time-saving, productivity-boosting, stress-reducing benefits. Now, you can bring that power and convenience to your iPhone or iPad.

To use Dashlane’s auto-login feature in Safari, start by tapping the menu icon, shown below in red.

After Safari’s menu pops up, scroll left on the bottom row until you see the Dashlane icon (highlighted in red) and tap it.

Then, Dashlane will prompt you to verify your account by entering your PIN number, Master Password, or using Touch ID.

If you have more than one credential for that website, you’ll be asked to choose which account you’d like to sign in with.

If not, the website sign-in form will get filled automatically, and you’re in!

Fill Out Forms the Fast Way

Want to quickly make dinner reservations? Instead of wasting time typing in your name, phone number, and email on a tiny keyboard, let Dashlane automatically fill it for you.

Start with opening Safari’s menu, tapping the Dashlane icon, and unlock your Dashlane account with your Master Password, PIN number, or Touch ID fingerprint.

If you have more than one identity saved in Dashlane, you’ll be asked to select which identity you’d like to use to fill out the form. If you only have one identity saved in Dashlane, then your form will be automatically filled.

There are instances where a website will ask for your personal information as well as prompt you to create an account. If the website’s form has a password field,
 Dashlane can auto-fill your information and generate a password for you!

First, you’ll open Safari’s menu and select Dashlane on the bottom row.

Then, Dashlane will ask for your PIN number, Master Password, or Touch ID fingerprint to unlock your account.

On the next screen, Dashlane will ask you to if you’d like to generate a strong password using Dashlane’s strong password requirements, or if you’d like to create your own password.

Dashlane Password GeneratorIf you’d like create your own password, you’ll be asked to generate a strong password that has at least one lowercase letter, one uppercase letter, one number, and a minimum of eight characters.

If you’d like Dashlane to generate a password for you, select that option, and your personal information, as well as the password field will be automatically filled for you. And just like that, you’re signed up and ready to go!

Keep Your Wallet in Your Pocket

You can also make online purchases on-the-go with Dashlane’s universal digital wallet on your iPhone or iPad!

When a website prompts you for your credit card information, instead of pulling out your wallet, simply open Safari’s menu, select Dashlane, verify your account, and select which credit or debit card you’d like to use to make your purchase.
