NEW YORK, February 7, 2023— After two years of outstanding stewardship and growing Dashlane’s user base to 15+ million people and 20,000+ organizations, JD Sherman has chosen to step back from full-time leadership as CEO.
Today, Sherman and Dashlane welcome John Bennett as our new Chief Executive Officer. Bennett brings over 30 years of experience leading high-growth B2B SaaS (Software as a Service) and communication companies and was most recently the CEO at Cordance, where he led the organization’s day-to-day operations and long-term strategy. Before Cordance, Bennett spent four years as SVP and General Manager at LogMeIn (now GoTo), managing its $450 million Identity and Access Management (IAM) business unit, which saw tremendous growth during his tenure.

JD Sherman, Dashlane’s outgoing CEO, will stay on board as an advisor through June. “While I will miss being an active part of the day-to-day,” Sherman says, “I will remain a true fan and am excited for John to join the team as we reach an inflection point—the opportunity to deliver a differentiated Identity and Access Management solution to organizations has never been greater.”
Bennett joins the team during Dashlane’s strongest quarter to date and at a uniquely promising time in the organization’s history. “John’s combination of operational and leadership skills, deep knowledge of the B2B customer, and track record of success in the security and identity space make him the ideal CEO to guide us in capturing the special opportunity in front of Dashlane,” says Bernard Liautaud, Chairman of Dashlane’s Board of Directors.
Bennett has also held executive leadership roles at Citrix, Vapps (acquired by Citrix), Ace*Comm, Sentori, CMGi, and Nascent Technologies (acquired by CMGi), and holds a BA in Economics from Mary Washington University.
